Spincast Alloy

Spincast alloy is a secondary quality zinc based alloy developed by Brock Metal Company for use in the spin casting process.

Application

Spincasting alloy is generally used with rubber or resin moulds. Typical applications are belt buckles, jewellery, decorative items for clothing and furniture, handbag and luggage fittings. Parts made from this alloy are normally polished and plated with nickel, chrome or brass.

This alloy is a secondary zinc based alloy and therefore does not offer the consistent properties associated with other alloys specified within international specifications. For this reason it is advisable to use this alloy for decorative parts where stress levels are minimal. In addition, the impurity levels present in these alloys are marginally higher than those associated with primary grade materials and will not be suitable for toys or similar items.
